I’m not sure I’ve ever had more fun at a wedding than I did at Kasey and Rocky’s.  And if you know me at all you know I have quite a bit of fun at every wedding and absolutely love my job.  I stayed quite a bit after our photography coverage was supposed to end; dancing and celebrating with everyone. 🙂

Kasey and Rocky did their wedding just as I think everyone should do.  Their wedding was a multi-day celebration/party in a gorgeous destination, that culminated in a beautiful ceremony where they were surrounded by their close family and friends.

I send out a questionnaire/checklist to all my couples prior to the wedding.  The last question is a general catch-all in case I forgot to ask something specific and reads, “Is there anything else you would like to let us know?”  Kasey’s response was 100% accurate.

This is going to be a lot of fun and we look forward to having you there!!

I’ve been accused of being over-enthusiastic in my copy.  But I really am this enthusiastic about weddings and the couples I get to serve.  I live and die by the amount of exclamation marks in their responses to their photos.  And nothing makes me happier than being at the wedding of someone I just met and leaving feeling like I have made life-long friends.  Alright enough gushing.  Back to the wedding day.

The day started at Rolland’s Beauty Bar where Kasey had her hair and makeup done.  The surroundings of Seaside, FL looked familiar but I couldn’t quite place it.  Then one of the hairdressers mentioned to me that this was the town they created to film the movie “The Truman Show” (which is one of my all-time favorite movies).  After taking a stroll through the city center (where the search party looked for Truman in the movie) we headed to the house where they had been staying and where the festivities would be taking place.

The property had just recently been finished and the details throughout the house were absolutely breathtaking.  I didn’t get a view of the ocean until I followed Kasey up to the top floor and then saw an absolutely breathtaking 180 degree view of the beach and ocean below.  The day couldn’t have been more perfect.  After the couple exchanged vows everyone threw seashells into the ocean while wishing the newly weds a happy life together.    After dinner everyone headed back downstairs for dancing.  I think my first clue that this wasn’t going to be a “normal” reception was when Kasey’s brother came out shirtless to give his toast.  Fairly soon after all the guys (including myself) had their shirts off as well.  The “dance floor” was constantly occupied for the next few hours with short intermissions when people jumped/were pushed into the pool that was adjacent to where the dancing was taking place.

The night “ended” with fireworks, jumping in the ocean, more dancing and some karaoke.  Everything from the flowers to the cake to the day of coordinating was taken care of by the Destin Wedding Company.  I am so thankful that Kasey and Rocky asked me to come and document this special day for them.  It was the perfect ending to my cross country adventures that took me from Nashville to California to Maryland and finally down to Florida for this epic wedding adventure.  Congrats guys!!!
