Cheekwood isn’t just my favorite spot for proposals in Nashville it is my favorite spot just to visit! Nothing compares to the beauty of the Cheekwood gardens any time of year. Throughout the year not only what flowers and trees are in bloom change but they also bring some amazing rotating exhibits that just add to the scenery! I love visiting the Chihuly blown glass exhibit and Holiday Lights. Truman just so happened to pick the first day of the Nature POP! Made with LEGO® Bricks exhibit. And if you follow us on instagram you know what big Lego fans Cara and I are.

For Truman’s proposal to Alivia we planned it out so that Alivia thought she was there to take photos with her family. She didn’t even know that Truman was in town. Cara took Truman to the Wisteria Arbor where he would propose while I met Alivia and her family and started giving them a tour of Cheekwood while leading them up the historic estate. Once we got to the steps leading up to the arbor I had Alivia go up first. Her surprise and excitement was so fun to capture!

We also filmed Truman’s proposal to Alivia! You can watch all the beautiful moments from the proposal and engagement session at Cheekwood in the video below.

From Truman: “John went above and beyond to make the day of mine and my fiancée’s engagement as special as possible. He and his partner played a huge role in keeping the proposal a surprise. The pictures and video could not have turned out any better. I would not want anyone else to have captured this special moment for my fiancee and I.”

If you are planning on proposing at Cheekwood do note that they require an advance reservation and can book up very far in advance for photo sessions. But it is definitely worth it! Feel free to contact me and I’m happy to help you plan your Nashville proposal at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens!
